Worst Turnout In History: Kashmir Situation Deteriorating?
Only 2 per cent voters turned up to vote again at Srinagar parliamentary seat, the lowest in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
A mere 2% turnout was witnessed in the re-polling held in 38 polling stations under the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, making it the lowest percentage in the state’s history.
Only 709 of the 34,169 voters exercised their franchise across all the 38 polling stations by the time the polling ended at 4 pm.
No votes were polled in Khansahib assembly segment while only three votes were cast in Budgam segment and 84 in Chrar- e-Sharief segment
On Sunday, eight people were killed and over 100 security personnel were injured after mobs took to the streets at different places across the Lok Sabha constituency straddling Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts.
So if we do the reality check Kashmiris have practically said no to voting for Indian constitution which means the political system in Kashmir has totally failed, the unrest and ongoing killings of protestors have completely alienated Kashmiris from India. The message from Kashmir is clear that they are fed up from Indian occupation and government has miserably failed in Kashmir.
Kashmir is believed to be in the worst of its times and history has never seen protestors going out on streets and disrupting encounter sites and helping militants flee.If Indian think tanks let the present government tackle the problem with this rigidity the time is not far when Kashmir will wittiness its catastrophic failure from Indian rule.
The on going crises is simply the ignorance and insensitivity of present Indian government towards Kashmir which has cost Kashmir many young and innocent lives and India might lose the faith of Kashmiris forever. Kashmir is totally alienated and is awaiting a catastrophe at the hands of mighty Indian force deployed in the valley
